Day 1 of Spring Break

Standard

First off I decided to to walk, need to get that habit established so why not today! I suppose I will just give you a run down of our first day on spring break. It’s 42* ;We did one subject of school, math and had lunch then made a cake. Chocolate Peanut butter Cake. As we were getting ready to make the frosting  I began to frantically look around the kitchen and in the freezer for the much needed powdered sugar. No where to be found was enough powdered sugar for the frosting, we needed 3 cups. so, K was off to the office to ask her had to take her to the grocery store, he said yes. (here I am waiting and writing).

Just received a phone call from K on her dad’s phone asking me if I wanted a Sonic drink, being a weakling I said yes. (so much for my 30 minute walk). Now I am waiting for the return of K and her dad. As a side note, I am not feeling well, I hope it is not something that gets worse.

I did start feeling better, we had dinner, K made snicker doodle cookies   🙂    going back and forth while we watched a movie called  Joyful Noise! I was working on a bucket list item, my oldester daughter’s afghan, I shall be finished with it SOON  (jump for joy) 😀  I am doing the border now, picture will come when I am done.

Cat, Quilt and Sunday Afternoon

Standard

Here she is last Sunday taking over my quilt! I went to do some work on the center of the quilt and found Ms Gracie Cat taking a Sunday afternoon {all day} nap! This writing is mostly about me trying to get my quilt and table back and not  forcing the issue. I went back upstairs after making Ms Gracie go through a photo shoot.  Yes, I did get to quilt finally, she wanted to eat and had to leave to come up stairs for dinner.

Behold, a Saturday at home sweet home

Standard

What does this day hold? Our son is off to the near by college, about 40 minutes drive, to try for a scholarship with his clarinet. I do not think he will know the results today.

Our long 3 hour drive to basketball games were cancelled yesterday, due to the large amount of snow (heard that Hays had 17″) now I have a Saturday to clean and do some much desired sewing! I plan to come back and fill you in on what happened to my day!

update #1 eating chili and cornbread and looking at blogs; then checking out a tutorial on machine quilting….sun is out but it’s only 19* 🙂

update #2 {again} I did this and can’t find it {sad face for sure} Caleb did well with his clarinet!!

had a great time chatting,sewing and laughing with friends this afternoon. finished c’s quilt top, cut some more 2.5″ squares.

Had a nice evening with hubby and popcorn, talking basketball tournament (while I was sewing) Here’s a pic of the quilt we designed:

C told me the colors and the block shapes. Fred and I did the math and figured the yardage, Oh, now to buy backing!

Almost a Year

Standard

I have been using Duri, Rejuvacote for almost if not a year by now. I was a true skeptic at first. A really good trustworthy friend suggested it to me after a post that I had made on Facebook about my nails not growing. Well as a girl and young lady and well in to my adult life now, I never had nails that would grow! I hated it, I would try different ideas to get them to grow…. {I admit as a child I did bite the nails}…also my nails would break, except my thumb nails, they were strong. So here I am to show you that …. I now have nails, growing so strong and long that I am filing them down! I am finding it hard to believe! FYI, I bought Rejuvacote on Amazon.com I searched until I found a great price and free shipping. I just started on my second bottle this week. As always because I like pictures here are a couple, I am a visual person, here’s what the bottle looks like and my nails today:

{love this! I used it for 7 days, kept adding as it does come off, then I added polish after the 7 days were up}

Wednesday, I’m tired, school is late

Standard

Today is a slow day, I got out of bed late, breakfast was late, school will be late. My post is late, I just deleted what I had written {cry}

As a homeschooler, home educator I can pick my hours of school, and they can change each day! The point is to do the hours the state says to do, and the work they say to do. This week we were structured until today….I ran out of energy! Monday was a full school day with a basketball game {2 games and clean up after the games} Tuesday, same story, second verse! Wednesday, late school day and then to church for AWANA and choir practice…Thursday will be school and {2 basketball games again} Friday, no games but my Husband Fred will be away from home referring a basketball game, Saturday we will have 4 basketball games, and it will be senior day so we will have a presentation for our 10 seniors! It will be a long day. I have one of those seniors.

So, today, we will take it slow and get school done and meals done { the little dog a bath} and some quilt binding finished up and….keep going along as life is what it is and then our children grow up way too fast.  Sorry for the random thoughts! I am tired.
