Happy Birthday x2

Standard

Our two April Birthday are here and gone , C and M (is today) I don’t think they will mind if I share pictures, however I did get a blurry one with my phone! I am working on catching you up with what has happened, it has been a while. I don’t really like it but sometimes life just comes at you fast and you have to pick and choose what to not do…the blog was it!  I did get M her one birthday gift request but want to go find some other treasure for her, I forgot to take a picture, it was a plant!  So birthday gifts are yet to come!

Here’s a few pictures of the birthday last Saturday:

Day 4 Thursday, of Spring Break

Standard

This week is truly flying by for me! I have not sat at my sewing machine all week long. Bummer!  Still I was proud to get some much needed work done around the house and time was well spent with my youngest daughter K. Today’s forecast ..hasn’t happened yet and don’t think it will; rain turn to snow 30% chance. It’s 35*F right now and it feels cold out there. My outdoor cat Shasta wants in the garage, but she can handle the outdoors. She has shelter.

!. Looking for bag pattern and purse pattern this morning   free downloadable bags   ton of choices! Here is what we picked  reversible tote bag

2. We didn’t get snow, but Friday morning we did get a very small amount that melted by 9am-10am

3. We had fish that Fred caught last summer, bass and catfish, love the taste of fresh caught! Sure glad he likes to fish. (thank you honey) and I made cookies!

4. Can’t believe I didn’t get this posted on Thursday 😦   We watched Lord of the Rings, Two towers, stayed up way late! Because we needed to watch basketball again. It is March Madness after all!

5. K started hand stitching the binding on her lap quilt! She has a bag to make over the week end.

Day 3 March 20th of Spring Break

Standard

Today is a little cooler, news is telling u we have a chance of rain and snow starting tonight and Thursday. I just started thinking SPRING since today IS the first day of spring   😉

I painted my nails grabbed the flip flop and a T-shirt….now may be back to fall clothes for a bit longer? We shall see what really happens. I forgot to take pictures of our outing, but K and I went to the Mall today for a pretzel, we ran into friends (my friends) we sat with them. We ate and chatted for a bit then K and I went on our way to look for shoes (for her).

Dressy shoes…. heels!  no luck this time around. RATS!  Next, fabric ( how could I pass up a fabric store when I have to walk right by one?) NOT gonna happen if I can help it…. we went in, found fabric for the backing of son C’s quilt, found fabric to make a bag and then we brain stormed to make K a sling purse, we are on the hunt for the pattern (free one we hope).

So, no real pictures of us,  😀 Going to make dinner now…

Looked at making a surprise quilt with a friend ( will only be calling it that until it is finished) Had a police officer in the neighborhood this afternoon, do not know what he was doing but that is never an exciting thing to see an officer going into your neighbor’s back yards, 3 different yards. What was he looking for? Will the newspaper tell me tomorrow?
1363823781952Recipe: Chicken breast, bacon, brown sugar and chili powder (mix what you think you will need and make as spicy as you like). Heat oven to 350*F. Cut chicken , wrap bacon around it, coat with brown sugar/chili mixture; put on cookie sheet (I sprayed mine with cooking spray just in case they stuck) Bake 30-35  minutes. Recipe from Facebook  MyFridgeFood.com

Fred and K went to the YMCA for some fun! I cleared the kitchen, now to do some sewing! Daughter M’s afghan is FINISHED! #5 is now marked off the list (Done on Wednesday). So ended the 3rd day of break with a basketball game and The Fellowship of the Rings!

Day 1 of Spring Break

Standard

First off I decided to to walk, need to get that habit established so why not today! I suppose I will just give you a run down of our first day on spring break. It’s 42* ;We did one subject of school, math and had lunch then made a cake. Chocolate Peanut butter Cake. As we were getting ready to make the frosting  I began to frantically look around the kitchen and in the freezer for the much needed powdered sugar. No where to be found was enough powdered sugar for the frosting, we needed 3 cups. so, K was off to the office to ask her had to take her to the grocery store, he said yes. (here I am waiting and writing).

Just received a phone call from K on her dad’s phone asking me if I wanted a Sonic drink, being a weakling I said yes. (so much for my 30 minute walk). Now I am waiting for the return of K and her dad. As a side note, I am not feeling well, I hope it is not something that gets worse.

I did start feeling better, we had dinner, K made snicker doodle cookies   🙂    going back and forth while we watched a movie called  Joyful Noise! I was working on a bucket list item, my oldester daughter’s afghan, I shall be finished with it SOON  (jump for joy) 😀  I am doing the border now, picture will come when I am done.

What-a-Week :) End

Standard

Friday was a tournament for our high school boys team. We left the house early, 6:10am met some others at Wal Mart to head south to Leon, Kansas! Yep! 4 games our team had!

K and took some sewing she wanted to learn to embroidery, I bought myself a kit as well , since it had been years since doing this.

We stopped at McDonald’s to stretch and get “breakfast” that is about all I can do at that place, it’s better than nothing…..small black coffee with bacon,egg, cheese biscuit….preparing to get on the road again and eating, {little foggy that day along with smidge of icy-ness on burb lights and windshield}

First Game: My son didn’t play, the other team was small and our older guys would have stomped them; so our second string had to do the job, they did not! Therefore we lost, and deserved it. They had way too many missed shots and free throws… you just can’t miss free throws, you just can’t….I mean like 90% of them.

Two games in between….K and I get out our embroidery, I get her set up but she ends up running around with her friends and never learns to embroidery! I start working on I mine.

Second Game: Finally my son is playing and the other boys, but not at the same time. We play an Oklahoma team. We are ahead the whole game then get a little behind (too many games for me to remember the score for you) I was taking pictures, then the tie up  end of the 4th quarter, we have the ball under the Ok teams goal, we have plenty of time…2.7seconds I think, my son ends up with the ball, he dribbles, goes across the half court line and he releases the ball, it looks to be short…his team mate is ready to catch and shot…..the buzzer…. the ball……. swish…did it go in the hole in time???? YES? THEY WIN BY 3?!!!! Even the other team was excited {to a point}…. our coach [my hubby} was mentally preparing for overtime when out of the corner of his eye he sees the ball go in!  OH, THE JOY AND LAUGHTER ON THE BASKETBALL COURT…..my C was a hero for a couple of seconds….for forever a hero in this mom’s heart .

Two game break, our boys needed a rest and food!

Third Game: Second hardest game of the day, but our boys still won and everyone got to play. My mind is a blur by this time, it is 3pm and I have been sitting in bleachers many hours, eating some and drinking water, and one coke. Taking lots of pictures! We the EAGLES played a team from Arkansas City {we say Ark City}…The Lions!!!

Yes…2 game waiting period again and now it is after 6pm before our last game….it’s running slightly behind but doing well!

Fourth Game: Another Oklahoma team, we won by alot, and my son didn’t play as much but did play. We came home with 3rd place because there was a 3 way tie and the tie breaker was point scores on those games not the tournament game, so no biggy! our boys had fun and played some good ball!

Dinner time! Pizza Inn, three car loads, not that many of us, 4 adults, 6 young men who are starving and silly!hearts_collage-3961Saturday, our church had a Valentine Banquet, for married couples and singles could come if they wished 🙂 We had lasagna, spaghetti, salad  catered in, the salad is not your ordinary salad {avocado; chicken;crumbled bacon their house dressing} we had country singing for entertainment. It was a good evening and being i am on the committee who plans I was blessed with helping to cleaning!

Today was Sunday, we went to church for worship, sang…listened to great sermon and sang again. Then had dinner at home on this windy 34ish * day and I took a nap {so did my hubby, 2 dogs and probably the cats} Soon, we head to small group. That is my What-A-Weekend!

Hope yours was fun, full, and great!
