My September son is turning 22 ASAP how can this be??? he is working in a restaurant and becoming a wonderful cook!

College bound son did not come home this past summer, he is in the engineering department at K-ST. Working and going to classes, it’s a busy year for him.

My Wonderful Man is back to reffing football at full speed now that we know he can not tolerate gluten! His body was shutting down on us but he is good to go now…makes my heart glad!! ❤

Back to my quilting, I have plenty to do tonight and it’s 8pm already. No one wants to ready a long blog about nothing. Have a great night everyone!

May, maybe Be about Gone

Standard

Should I say I am sorry? Time has slipped away from me since April and it snowed. I will take the time to post pictures later, because I think that is what  people really like more than anything.

As I sit here, I see baby robins messing around in their nest as the wind is kicking up and it is not safe for them. Where is their mama????  She needs to make them sit still, their nest is in the back of our portable basketball goal, I am scared for them. I don’t want them to fall out!

This is what has happened:

I had to put my 17 year old Shasta cat to sleep 😦  she had a tumor and failing kidneys… I could not watch her suffer any longer…and it came upon me so quickly!

The first part of May our son graduated! A joyous occasion!! We had graduation, Caleb spoke, his dad spoke, I handed his his diploma and we hugged and said I love you and tried not to cry…..

The next day had to take my father in law by ambulance to hospital from Sunday School, he had fainted, but we thought it could have been  his heart or stroke (he is 94 yrs)… he is fine, he truly fainted!

The next week end…that same son called from work with a blind spot in his eye…to the eye doc we went…..to the hospital we went on Saturday for emergency surgery for a torn, detached retina to the right eye. { hard to have your 18 year old go through this} but God is Good all the time and I know He is in control….

Time went by fast….missed my bucket list dead line for getting Caleb’s quilt finished…. and other things I am catching up on besides this blog…pictures will come…we had meetings…I have had health issues…my oldest daughter is engaged! So much to tell you! ❤

Our son is enrolled in college, I am working on weight lose, working on the quilt again, keeping grandsons for the summer months….life is picking up!

Blessings,

Cat

Been Busy

Standard

Sorry for being gone for almost a week plus.
Easter and graduation and school and quilts and a migraine. I just didn’t put blogging in my week as a priority.

This past week our son turned18.
Tuesday our daughter has a birthday. She is our oldest kid! I may have pictures another day.

Life is good. GOD IS GOOD. Today was a great Sunday to worship the LORD.
Goodnight.

March Snow? True Madness Indeed!

Standard

Oh, the craziness of Kansas and March mixed together! I love it. I am glad today is Saturday so I can be at home and do what I want {ha…ha…ha} I did get my treadmill walking in and did some reading on my Kindle Fire. Laundry  started; candle burning. I’m ready to get moving on to something else now.

Doing some much desired quilting today on my little machine, it was getting a workout!  While quilting I think of happy thought or I will be tense and mess up badly on my stitching. I thought about the next quilt (s) I am going to be starting….my secret one….my son C’s needs to be sandwiched this weekend….my sisters….three is enough for now to think about.

Also, we have been getting some snow showers, nothing sticking most of the day, but this evening it was staying around.  My how the brackets of basketball is being thrown for a loop! A few big upsets already and I am hoping for more! Can’t wait to cheer for the underdogs in the games to come.  Good night! Nothing much to report to ya! I’m looking forward to Palm Sunday tomorrow! Guess I will find some warn clothes to wear 🙂

Behold, a Saturday at home sweet home

Standard

What does this day hold? Our son is off to the near by college, about 40 minutes drive, to try for a scholarship with his clarinet. I do not think he will know the results today.

Our long 3 hour drive to basketball games were cancelled yesterday, due to the large amount of snow (heard that Hays had 17″) now I have a Saturday to clean and do some much desired sewing! I plan to come back and fill you in on what happened to my day!

update #1 eating chili and cornbread and looking at blogs; then checking out a tutorial on machine quilting….sun is out but it’s only 19* 🙂

update #2 {again} I did this and can’t find it {sad face for sure} Caleb did well with his clarinet!!

had a great time chatting, sewing and laughing with friends this afternoon. finished c’s quilt top, cut some more 2.5″ squares.

Had a nice evening with hubby and popcorn, talking basketball tournament (while I was sewing) Here’s a pic of the quilt we designed:

C told me the colors and the block shapes. Fred and I did the math and figured the yardage, Oh, now to buy backing!
